1,300 of Clo’s best friends run Sunday

Clo half-marathon and other runs travel through Petaluma Sunday.|

Runners, 1,300 strong, will hit downtown Petaluma streets on Sunday for the Clo Cow Half Marathon, 10K and 5K runs.

The event, now in its seventh year, features a scenic out-and-back course that starts and finishes on Kentucky Street and takes runners on a tour of farm country west of town. In addition to the 13.1-mile half marathon and 5K distances, a 10K course has been added this year, giving participants three distances to choose from.

Registration, which is subject to selling out prior to race day, is available at www.clocowhalf.com. All registered participants receive a well-supported course with aid-stations, performance running shirt, chip timing, a highly coveted cowbell finisher’s medal, post-race food, and free photos.

Traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect in the downtown area and streets along the race route.

The event is organized by Chicken and Cow Productions and sponsored by Clover Sonoma.

The half marathon is part of the California Half Marathon Series and attracts runners from across the state. A portion of the proceeds benefit local nonprofit organizations, including the Petaluma Educational Foundation, Petaluma Health Center, North Bay Rowing Club, Sonoma State Rowing Club, Casa Grande Cross Country and Casa Grande Lacrosse.
