Casa girls thump Carrillo

The Casa Grande girls basketball team tuned up for its Thursday night shootout against North Bay League powerhouse Montgomery with a 56-25 victory over league winless Maria Carrillo on Tuesday night.

Thursday’s game will be in the Montgomery gym in Santa Rosa.

On Tuesday, the Lady Gauchos had little trouble with Maria Carrillo, jumping out to a 16-2 opening-quarter lead.

Mia Cain led Casa Grande with 17 points. Trinity Merwin and Sophia Gardea each had 10.

Casa is now 12-8 on the season and 5-4 in NBL play.
