Orientation meeting set for junior golfers

The Petaluma Golf & Country Club is again offering a junior golf program this spring.|

There will be an orientation meeting for the Junior Golf Program at the Petaluma Golf & Country Club on March 31 at the club. The program will begin at 2 p.m.

Parents and players 7 years old and up are invited to learn more about the program. The meeting and the program are open to both PG&CC members and non-members.

The program began in 2013 with a half-dozen young golfers and has grown and added new components each year since. Last year, more than 30 young golfers were involved in weekly instructional clinics, a USKids accredited skill development program and on-course play.

Many of the juniors also competed in summer leagues at area courses, and played on the national PGA Junior League and in the North Bay League and finished first in both. Seven program members play on area high school teams.
