Petaluma-based Alvarado Street Bakery was presented with an award honoring its environmentally sustainable business practices.
The award was presented by Assemblyman Jared Huffman, D-San Rafael, as part of his monthly Sustainable North Bay Award. The award recognizes the company's recently installed solar array that offsets 40 percent of the company's power needs.
Huffman presented the award May 20 at the company, a worker-owned cooperative that has been in business for more than 30 years.
