[The top-selling titles at Petaluma’s Copperfield’s Book Store, for the week of Oct. 1-7, 2018.]

After a month, Bob Woodward’s polarizingly eye-opening “Fear: Trump in the Whitehouse” continues its occupation of the No. 1 spot on Petaluma’s bestselling books list.

Taking the No. 2 spot is the new-to-the-list paperback edition of Isabel Allende’s 2017 novel “In the Midst of Winter,” a lyrical tale of immigration and love that spans several countries and three different families.

Sally Field’s memoir “In Pieces” is another newcomer to the list, taking the No. 5 spot.

A number of hardy titles remain glued to the top ten after weeks among Petaluma’s bestselling books. David Sedaris’s cheeky collection of essays, “Calypso,” is at No. 6 (down from No. 3 last week), Gail Honeyman’s novel “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’ has slipped from No. 2 last week to No. 4 this week, and Tara Westover’s “Educated” has dropped from No. 5 to No. 10.

On the list of bestselling kids and young adult books, something rare and very impressive has happened. The top two spots are currently the residence of two different versions of the same book by Yuyi Morales – “Dreamers,” a picture book about an immigrant boy and his mother finding a new world – and a new language – in the local library. It’s the No. 1 book of the week, followed (in second place) by “Soñadores,” the Spanish-language version of the same book.
